About my creative journey
How I became the artist you see today
My name is Shema R. Herve also known as Umunyarwandaa. I was born in 1996.
In 2012, I started my journey as an artist. I started ;earning painting and sketching at Inema Art Center where I started selling multiple paintings after one year.
In 2014, I started my modeling career debuting in a modelling agency but later turned into a freelance model and performed in more than 10 fashion shows.
In 2015, Mahal (Gerard from Rwanda Updates) and I started an event management company called RWANDA EVENT PROMOTERS. We organised over 15 events and won multiple awards in our launch year.
It is in that same year that I grew some passion and love for photography and started learning photography and videography. I later became the primary photographer/videographer at my high school.
In 2016, I got better at taking pictures and videos and I traveled around the country and put together a stock gallery of all touristic sites for which I gained a lot of recognition.
And later, I gained some IT skills. I started building websites and also created 5 online games (2D arcade games)
In 2017, I decided to improve on my artistic knowledge. So I started learning graphic designs (making 2D and 3D art). I made over 100 event posters that year and started working as a graphic designer at RWANDA REBROADCASTING AGENCY.
In 2018. I won The Best Portrait Of The Week at Image Rwanda.
In 2019, I started working with Aurora Image Studio focusing on Photo Retouching and modeling shoots. Later, that year, I started working with IMAGE RWANDA,
Starting 2019. I worked with RIB, an event company that hosts Miss Rwanda, and there, I represented FocusIcon, a large studio from Rwanda.
My current project
I am currently working with Gura Stores to get people to shop over there.
I love photography and videography
I am a freelancer and contractor artist.
I am a creative, hardworking, and curious person. I love learning arts.
I tell my clients one thing “If you can think of it, I can bring it to life”.
Although I share a lot about my daily routine and art on my social media platforms, there is a few things I would like to share with you here.
My love for art is nowhere near what can be seen in my posts and stories.
